Have you ever studied through the book of Colossians? Have you ever taken your time and dwelt on the words in this small powerful book? The way Paul prays and encourages this church. The majestic description given of Jesus. I am continually refreshed and renewed every time I study Colossians.

In 2014 I had the privilege of hearing Dr. Kathy Koch speak and she said this, "you were created on purpose, for a purpose, by a loving God." I repeated this to my children and the youth group I was currently serving at the time, but eventually I didn't say it as often.
Then I read words like this, "For by Him all things were created... all things were created through Him (Jesus) and for Him (Jesus)" Colossians 1:16, and I am reminded to speak life giving words filled with hope to others.
And words from John 1:1-5 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."
Add Ephesians 2:10 to meditate on as well, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
Through these scriptures I am reminded that God has birthed a love in me to encourage others to pursue their God given purpose. If He can use this hot mess I promise He can use anyone. I am as Paul says "the chief of all sinners". My daily need for Christ is evident and I question often how I was ever chosen to carry out any part of His plan. I am only able to walk worthy of my calling through the grace of Jesus Christ! Through these scriptures, full of life, I am reminded of my own purpose. Because of fear, doubt, and shame I find myself lacking the godly confidence to operate fully in the gifts God has given me. I want to love God better and live a life that is evident of my worship to Him. I want to look at others and tell them God made you on purpose and to take the first step of faith to fulfill His purpose for your life that is for His glory. Yes! YOU!
What purpose has God put in your heart? What is He asking you to dream about? In this roller coaster ride called life that is filled with pain, joy, sufferings, and victories I am constantly reminded it is all worth it; for my good, others good, and for His glory! Find the confidence in Christ to take that the next step of faith towards the good works He has already prepared for you!
Grab your bible and soak it in for yourself. See and meditate on what God is saying to you through these words of life! See and meditate on the character and goodness of God!
